3There are are many advantages of iOS Apps over Android Apps. Although Android has come a long way so far that some experts feel it’s reached parity, but iOS still has a few important advantages. Few such advantages are listed below:

ADVANTAGES OF iOS over Android:

1. Better App Quality – iOS apps in Apple’s App Store are of better quality than their Android counterparts in Google Play. Google Play might have almost paralleled to Apple in the total number of apps, but Apple still has the edge when it comes to the number of quality apps available — especially in categories such as games, media creation and children’s apps. Apple’s higher quality standards also mean that people are more trusting of the App Store apps to be free of snooping or malicious code.

2. User Friendly – While some have complained that Apple hasn’t made any major changes to iOS since the first version, but it’s not entirely a bad thing. The user interface on every iOS device is very similar. By contrast, the Android user experience varies greatly from one manufacturer’s device to another due to skinning.

Fragmentation is also a problem on the Android platform. Sixty percent of all iPhone users are running the newest version of iOS, while less than 5% of all Android users are running the newest version of Android. Carriers and handset manufacturers don’t make all Android updates available on every phone, over half of all Android users are still running version 2.3, which was released back in 2010.

In a nutshell, Apple doesn’t allow skinning and when it feels the need, it allows users with older devices to upgrade to the newest version of its OS. This results in a more consistent and an enhanced user experience.

3.Tablet-boosted App Listings – The App Store displays iPhone and iPad apps in separate areas. iPad-optimized apps normally look better on tablets because they can take the advantage of the larger screen which tablets have. While Google lags much behind in these aspects.

4. No Carrier Bloatware – Carriers preload their Android phones with loads of apps. While some promote paid services, others are carrier-branded or third-party apps. Many preinstalled apps seem to be of no importance at all. They simply clutter the screens of Android phones and often cannot be deleted. Apple doesn’t allow carriers to install junk on their products.

5. A Better Personal Assistant – Although Google Now is pretty good, the version of Siri which is included with iOS 6 has some advantages. It includes more human-like and actionable responses. iri has definitely been improved, the notifications screen does more, and the Passbook feature seems useful. On the other hand, as others have noticed, the new Maps application, which replaces Google Maps with Apple’s, is flawed. It adds turn-by-turn directions and Yelp integration, for instance, but lacks much of the street level detail Google Maps has. Siri uses the technology of Artificial Intelligence to answer these.

6. iOS-first Apps – Android is big. Really big. According to research firm Gartner, 79% of all smartphones sold between April and June this year were running Android: 177.9m handsets compared to Apple’s 31.9m iPhones. Meanwhile, Google says that more than 1.5m new Android devices are being activated every day, it’s nearing 1bn activated in total so far, and that by the end of this year that total will include more than 70m Android tablets.

Big. Yet a lot of apps still come out for Apple’s iOS first or even exclusively. Right now, if you own an iOS device, you can play Plants vs. Zombies 2, Clash of Clans and Worms 3, but Android owners can’t.By now you’d think all popular apps would be available on both platforms, but that’s not the case. Android is still missing some popular iOS apps. To make things worse, even when developers support both platforms, they often release their iOS apps first. Even Instagram launched on Android 18 months after iOS!

7. Better HTML5 Support – Although Flash is still a popular way of handling multimedia on the Web, many people believe HTML5 will one day replace it. Hence, instead of supporting Flash, Apple put its efforts into supporting HTML5 and it shows.

8. Dynamic App Icons – iOS icons are very user friendly and helps the user to easily navigate through the phone. It may not have widget support yet, but the icon for the Calendar app displays the current day and date are very well designed. Folders and apps like Spotify also are capable of showing notifications. As for Android, they lack such consistent features.

9. Better Power Management – iOS devices seem to have power management than Android devices. This is a result of the fact that iOS doesn’t allow third-party apps to run in the background. This was made possible as iPhone 4S has an under-clocked processor and provides no LTE support which prolongs the battery power.

10. Phonetic pronunciations for Siri – iOS allows you to add phonetic pronunciations to your contacts which will tell Siri how to pronounce certain names. This is yet to be implemented in the Android devices.

While the whole country was planning to indulge in the 67th Independence day celebration, how could Teks lag behind???

The whole office was decorated with tri-color balloons and flags. A craft work using thermocol, giving it a shape of our county, was made. It was a “Desi Day” for all of the employees. They dressed in saris, kurtas and pajamas added up to the Independence Day theme. And obviously, the color code was either one of the colors of our national flag!

There was a cool photo session. And the most exciting session was the fun activity time. We the employees went back to our childhood days with the game of Musical Chairs!!! We played, we screamed, we quarreled and people even fell down while acquiring a seat!
How could such a grand celebration end without some yummy delicious snacks??? Hot jalebis, gulab jamuns and samosas & cold drinks were waiting for us in our pantry! No sooner did the game end, than the people gorged upon the yummy food. All in all…it was great fun.

Story Time, an interactive story telling app that is bundled with beautifully illustrated story books for children, and very much a integral part of Teks Mobile(Teknowledge Software), was a proud participant of Bangalore Comic Con 2013. We joined the event and enjoyed the 2-day comics extravaganza on 1st & 2nd June, 2013, at Koramangala stadium.

Bangalore, the perfect example of cultural melting pot, with Comic Con overwhelmed us with an assortment of the best artists & writers of the country showcasing their work, experts of the medium in panel discussions, and some of the coolest international merchandise on sale at the event.

Story Time stall was crowded with tiny tots and their parents. They loved our books and even gave us lot of their suggestions as to what kind of stories would they like from us in the future. The cosplay at the event was the most attractive part. Fun and celebration was in the air. All the participants of the event were actively promoting the comic culture. Even the ecstatic visitors kept up their spirits dressing up just like their favourite comic character  and doing vibrant  face-paintings.

How could we lag behind? We danced with the Ninjas and met our favourite cartoon character-Sponge Bob. and guess what? We even posed and clicked with many of the cosplayers. Though we couldn’t dress up like one of our favourite comic character, we definitely had face-paintings and tattoos done on our faces!

To put in a nutshell, we enjoyed a lot and like a child, we did shout, cheer and laugh out loud…!
